Ingredients for Chocolate Halvah
- sesame seeds - one cup hulled or black
- cocoa beans - one cup dry peeled
- honey - 4oz or 3 or more tablespoons (variable- enough to ball)
- agave nectar - 4 oz
Directions for Chocolate Halvah
- add black sesame seeds to vitamix with dry blade cannister, and pulverize into flour by starting on low and increasing the speed
- drizzle honey in the middle under low speed until it balls up
- remove and replace with cocoa beans and pulverize into flour
- drizzle agave nectar in the middle until it balls up
- combine the layers
- I do this in two stages because my vitamix only works well with 1 cup at a time
- put walnuts on bottom of mold, press in the halvah on top and cool.
Variations
Plain Halvah
- in the vitamix with the dry blade canister
add a cup of hulled sesame seeds
and grind it to flour consistency
drizzle in honey with the speed on low
the vitamix makes flour and then a dough ball just like a food processor
anything can be used as a mold, like a glass dish
i filled up an ice tray with the dough and pressed them down
sprinkled with sesame seeds
and just before they almost froze
i popped them out of the ice cube trays and stored them in the refrigerator
