Kiaora...tena koutou katoa, Greetings one and all I was looking for vegan/veggie recipes online and found this site, read a few stories...great to read, im a sabbathkeeper so ive been changing my diet too...to veggie, omit the meat... now its dairy... who would eva thought... been raised up on the roast meats. After reading the Halleluliah raw diet book...read the part bout how chickens and beef were artificially given growth shots to speed up their growth so there ready for the market...I havent seen that video "Meet your meat...but ever since I stopped buying mincemeat for spaghetti bolgonese and the odd chicken for our tea, I found it strange buying dogfood for my pet animals, maybe they should go veggie too...so for a while it was pet meat...until my friend told me about the petfood its contaminated and don't give it to your pets, so she started buying mince meat for her dog...I later tried it after a lengthgy thought...so I boiled the mince and I had to cool it before giving it to my dog and cats eww... look at all that faaattt in solid form...wow that put me off just think I use to store all that fat in me...my thighs my fingers every where yea sooo if you dont read or watch them turn off meat books and videos, just boil some meat for your pets and wait for it to cool... all that fat...what i did with it well I gave it to my dog the fatty broth to fatten her up cause she really needed it, not me, my dog she is a foxy and really skinny so I'll fatten her up and then she can go veggie. Yea it feels weird buying meat at the market the eyes that behold it on the counter weird but it aint for me its for me pets.haha

I have been vegan for a little more than one year, and am considering raw food. I take a private class once a month with a chef who wants to expand his knowledge of raw / vegan food. Thanks for being here, with this incredible web site.

- Monday, May 05, 2008 at 20:44:42 (EDT)

Note from editor: i fill a pepper grinder with course salt that i make by wraping the chunks in cloth and hitting it with a hammer. if you have a better idea, let me know. i put the fine consistency in a shaker, the course in a grinder, and lick the little rocks. but i am not selling salt now.

Thanks for the great page. I am working on the epiphany diet.(this is the same as the raw times diet???) I have been eating single foods until they don't taste good. But then I noticed "in the same mouthful" so I guess it is ok to eat 3 different raw foods at the same meal but eat each in separate bites. Is that right? Am considering the caviar diet. Thanks for your help. Mickey Adams

I have been a vegatarian for about a year now. my purpose for this is to feel better and drop the weight. when i used to eat meat i felt sluggish and sick all the time. now i feel so much better but there is still room for improvement. so if there is any advise you can give me it would be greatly appreciated. - Friday, October 05, 2007 at 15:16:53 (EDT) I've been reading and following the living nutrition/raw fruit diet for my son Connor who's 16, and has Crohne's disease & Osteoporosis. I believe in this diet 100%. People, specially Doctors are very against this diet. I've been going to Doctors, even out of state to find a Doctor to help my son with this disease, and after four years, and 60 pounds, and a feeding tube, I can't do this any more. I gave birth to my son and I will continue this diet that is the only hope I have for him, and he notices the changes. Now, I have to work on his weight. If anyone has any advice let me know. Sincerely, Laura

- Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:06:26 (EDT) I am just beginnning to incorporate more raw food into my diet. I feel much better doing this. I am hypoglycemic and it is easier to keep my blood sugar stable. It is kind of hard doing the raw foods diet though as I do need protein and am skittish of eating raw meat or fish or eggs. Don't necessarily care that much for meat, but it does seem to help my hypo more than just raw food. Maybe when I learn more and have more raw food in my diet, my body will do better without meat. Right now I don't know a lot. It is also hard because I don't know anyone near me that wants to eat mainly raw food. I have one friend that might be open to it. I don't think anyone in my family that lives close by would even consider it.

- I want to try eating raw but have so many food allergies to raw fruits mainly and some vegetables. I am not sure if the raw foods that are left available for me to eat will be enough to keep up my interest and balanced health. Would like to hear from others who have the same problem and if they are better anyway from the effort of trying this raw lifestyle.

I think visitors are much less likely to be scared away by the vegan diet. Keep up the good progress and I'd like to hear your two cents more often on the listserv. Also, I lost the vignette "Sauna Tracker" and it would be cool if you sent that one again. -Jay

But it is very expensive $20.00 a pound. Can I try a sample of your salt and compare. I would like to see if I can grind it either in my vitamix or coffee grinder so I may add it to my food. I don't see why it wouldn't. I would prefer to do that, then lick it. Your prices are great and would prefer to get it from you. Also I like to use in the bath. How much do you put in?

Due to the present problems with e-coli in spinach, lettuce of late and now cases of botulism in carrot juices, I decided to look into juicers. Well, it is a lot more expensive and complicated than i thought but this is all right. i'll take my time to absorb it all and failing that, I'll "guess", i guess :-) This is not new to me, guessing, as I have been practicing meditation for 40 years and intuition has always been important to me. I can't wait to look into the recipes. bb

We are planning to share a regular workshop on introduction to natural instinctive raw food as a weekly event where we organise a raw meal, facilitate the introduction for instinctive eating for people new to this lifestyle and information dissemination. We aim to use the instincto process as a way for people to look at opening their instincts. It's great to be able to access the various information of other raw fooder- great site! We're looking for information and support for our venture from anyone that is involved in running workshops or has relevant information and tools that we may be able to use. I’m little to look at but have a weird stomach, I want to make my stomach flat and my sides also I want to get rid of my unwanted fat. I’m a busy girl with college and work, I don’t have time to exercise but this seems to be a really nice idea for eating raw. I tried blending carrots and strawberries today and it was good. Is there any way your can give me help on what else to do and can I boil my veggies and eat them and do I only have to blend them is there ways I can eat them like a nice display. Please help me , THANKS

Quincy, MA USA - Sunday, July 02, 2006 at 22:17:51 (EDT) The epiphany diet makes sense within the raw food. I have been struggling to stay on the raw food for almost 2 years now. One thing I know is that I will never go back to life before I discovered the raw food. Even when I cheat on my raw diet, I end up feeling bad that I cheated. I pump in lots of fruits to counter-act the cooked food I cheated with. I know I keep a faithfull percentage of atleast 65% raw. But the epiphany diet is great and has opened my eyes. No wonder I felt like I was forcing myself to eat some veggies, salads, tomatoes, etc. I know, I can NOT eat those things by themselves ALONE. No wonder I am not big on salads. Who can eat lettuce by itself and brag about how good a salad is? Man, I am starting to follow my instincts starting with the epiphany diet. Great raw philosophy! I now know why I was cheating on the raw diet. And the cooked food I cheated with did NOT taste good either. That's what kept my going back and forth. Because everywhere (raw or cooked)I ran to the food did not taste good or I did not want it. That was because some raw foods I was stuffing myself with, I did not like them anyway. So, I ran to the cooked junk which I regretted everything I did that. Cooked food has no taste to it. It's just a bunch of mixed stuff together that put me into some sort of a matrix. I mean that I was a state of "food ecstasy" but the food itself has no taste to it. It is a stupid cycle! Sick to be honest how civilization has programed our minds to a point where we eat cooked food just to be in a state of mind, but not with a true sense of the taste of the food we eat. I believe the epiphany diet will definately cut my cooked food cravings. Because there is no way I can eat something cooked if it is not mixed in some sort of spice, salt, other foods, etc. I have just finished experimenting on table salt by licking it until I can not lick/eat any more of it. I have just realized how little salt I need. Just a quarter tablespoon is enough to turn off all salty craving of a day. I don't think I will ever eat salty salads or other things ever again. Now, that I know what I know from this salt epipheny experiment. Eye openning. Thanks.

- Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 07:41:59 (EDT) Thanks for the info. I was living in Tahiti in 1979 and one of the people I knew was Mr Cordier, I never forgot his name, I also never forgot his story. My Cordier was told he had 2 to 3 months to live after doing the traditional treatment for his condition, I beleive that was a form of cancer. I was 22 years old and facinated by this man who left Europe, decided to start a new life in spite of his compromised future. Mr. Cordier remarried a younger woman from the island of Moorea (at least this is where I met him) quite younger, he has 2 or 3 children, built himself a polynesian house, built rentals on the land, worked the land, and followed Dr. Shelton diet approach religiously (except for a shot of whiskey in the afternoon). I have myself a brain tumor (coming back), the fist was 6 years ago. I did some traditional oral chemo as I was not clear enough to know what was going on, a biopsy that went wrong (head swelling). I started in spite of my gut feeling (family scare) an other chemo (oral) that does not seems to be what I need, does not feel right. The growth seems to be aggressive, I went to see 2 days ago one of the best specialists in LA that recommended chemo right away. I still beleive that there is a better way, my internal compass seems to be quite accurate, that is all I can really count on surrounded by people giving me a dim diagnosis. If one of the readers would have advices to share, please do not hesitate.I need to find an approach I can implement right away, what book to read fist and so on. Excuse my broken English, I am not a native English speaker, (native European). Thank you for reading this long message and please pass it along if you have relevant info. Sincerely Chris Q.

The Himalian salt lick sounds great. Licking it does to, instead of putting it in food. I like to taste my food when I eat, not salt like so many other people seem to. I "want to try the salt," might you get me a sample of it? Keep up the wonderful work.

I am not a raw foodist although my daughter has been for a year and swears by this lifestyle. My interest in your website came about because I am researching Himalayan Crystal Salt for myself and my animals, including two goats. I am aware that some sites sell salt licks for animals but how does one know that they are truly getting the real Himalayan salt? A lot of the websites contain cautionary tales of counterfeit salt being promoted on the web so it feels like a crapshoot to find the real thing if you've never tried it before. Can you help? Thanks for any light you can shed on this subject.

- Monday, June 05, 2006 at 19:54:36 (EDT) I am trying to find a supplier of salt in slab/block form. I used to have a very large piece (about the size of a serving tray) of pink salt that I served food on... Very nice. I told my guests that if they wanted their food to have more salt, then they should just rub the pice of food around a little bit. Alas, the beautiful slab of pink salt was destroyed along with my home in Hurricane Ivan about 1 and1/2 years ago. I would like to replace this item.

Hi - Just wanted to check back in and let you know that I got my salt today, and I was happily surprised by both how quickly it arrived and the generous amount. I immediately popped the smallest little chunk into my mouth and let it dissolve slowly while driving back to work after my lunch break - I found it to be very tasty - I could never do that with "plain" table salt or rock salt! I plan on crushing the rest of the sample into smaller chinks, and putting them in a grinder of some sort, then just using it in place of table salt. Thank you very much, and if all goes well, I'll be ordering some pounds.

I noticed a lot of seekers of some specialty foods. All kinds of oils and whatnots. I have another slant on the raw food diet subject. Twice a day I put a wide assortment of organic leafy veggies and fruits, mostly berries, in a blender and make a smoothie. I use regular pasturised fruit juices to make it a liquid because I can't yet afford that many fresh fruits, like oranges, to squeeze but I'll do that too when I can. What I've found is that, keeping on a regular raw food regime needed to be convienient for me. I always got bored with chewing tons of food like a cow and quit lol. The smoothie is what made it work for me in the long term. It's inexpensive and easy and I've been doing it for a couple years now with no signs of looseing interest. I still eat chewed food of course but the smoothie is the basis of my raw food diet and I still eat a few cooked foods too. Mostly potato chips....by the truck load.

Duxbury, Ma USA - Saturday, January 07, 2006 at 16:40:51 (EST) I have had your 21st century book years ago, a very good friend of mine whom I respect very much I later after years of knowing him told me it was your book that has changed his life as well. Right now I have just a couple months ago finished the arise and shine cleanse by Richard Anderson adn have gone through some amazing spriritual awaking steps and looking to keep moving with this. I feel as there is no other direction for me to go in. I have started the process to sell me home and am looking for the direction for me to go in. Towards LOVE, I will write to you for several sources as I feel really connected with the way thought in your books. I need help though as I am a single parent of two little girls ages 4 and 5 the mother is gone and have not seen her in years and it has been quite the trip for me being a male with enough bad programing to fill an x-box myself. I am looking for a place to go with my children to be away from the strangness we call society. I would LOVE to hear from you Dave, Oceanna Xandra xxoo xxoo xxoo
