My name is Gilli Helbig, I am 22 years old and live in Sydney, Australia. I was introduced to Natural Hygiene via "Fit for Life", while trying to gain superior health and lose weight. A whole new world of thought on health was opened up before me. I found it remarkably easy to shatter the framework set up in me by traditional nutritional ideas, and started to build up a new framework of natural health. I read more and more, anything I could get my hands on. I spent hours on the internet, researching. At this stage I was vegan, food combining, and only fruit til noon. Then I read a book by an Australian man "The Health Revolution" by Ross Horne, which speaks of the Pritikin and Gerson diets. I could not put this book down. I immediately became a raw-foodist, and have been since (it's only 5 months on). Raw food is the ideal diet, and I feel great on it. The further I get into it though, the harder it is to deal with those times when you allow yourself that special "treat"! I suffer the consequences for days, while my flatmates, who eat traditionally, feel no ill effects. I have recently undergone a 10 day juice fast, which was very interesting. I would recommend it (with BarleyGreen supplement) to anyone. It's great to feel your body at work cleansing itself! I am very interested in doing some research into human nutrition, from a natural hygienist/raw foodist perspective. Probably I will have to travel to America to do this. I feel the urge to help other people improve the quality of their lives, and rid themselves of unnecessary diseases, with the information I have acquired. I'd love to chat to anyone about rawfoodism! I do not know any other rawfoodists here in Australia - are you out there?????
