Hi All:
I'm new to the practice of raw foods, but not to the idea, which I have been
resisting for a year. (It's such a huge commitment!)
My defective heart valve has brought me to this point. It has been degenerating
(no wonder, after so many meals of hot-dog hash, jello and chips! Yes, I was
a heathen 4 years ago!) Two and a half years ago, after passing out on a 2 block
downhill jog, the cardiologist told me to
slow down and wait for valve replacement surgery. She laughed and went out for
her coffee/cigarette break when I told her that I inteneded to reverse the damage
through diet and exercise.
Since then, I've gone from vegetarian to vegan and now lately I've been trying
a fruitarian diet. But it's hard to maintain when I can't find any reason to
believe that my heart valve would benefit from this. I've only been doing this
for 4 to 6 weeks, and have been faltering lately. But I have stayed with my
6 mile daily vigorous walks.
For the real "bio" part of this email, I am a mother of 5 beautiful children
and we are homeschoolers living in Virginia. We have a very happy life together
here.
Oh, and by the way, is brewer's yeast allowed? Where does one get one's
b-vitamins on a fruitarian diet?
Thanks for your time.
