Chris asked about losing 70 lbs. I've lost about 75 pounds over a year and a half. It can and does happen, but it won't happen just by changing diet. I didn't start by intending to lose weight, I started by wanting to be healthier.
After 20 or so years of a typical vegetarian diet, I had gained the proverbial pound a month or so, and was 230. And, while I did some juicing and such, had developed anemia. I went on a totally raw food diet for several months, and started exercizing every day. And, the weight started dropping off, SLOWLY.
I stayed for the last year about 90% raw food, my anemia, high chloresteral, tryglicerides and all that are a thing of the past. And a pound or 2 a month, and I feel wonderful. Permanent weight loss, while building up muscle.
So, while I lost 75 pounds, I probably also built up 10 or 20 pounds of muscle, so I lost like 90 pounds of fat. I beleive that juicing every day has made a huge difference.
Don't think of it as losing weight, think of it as a process, you're just doing good stuff for your body every day. Feel free to write off line for more specific advice.
