Hello! My name is Christie and I live in California, US. I have been lurking on this list for a few weeks now after hearing about it from someone on another list I am on. I am 25, married and have two small boys, 3 1/2 and 16 months, who is still nursing. I have been vegetarian since high school, vegan for the last year and on and off with natural hygiene after reading Fit For Life. I ordered the book from Nature's First Law, The Raw Food Diet and since reading it, my whole family has been raw for 3 days now, 3 very long, hard days!!!!!! I have so many questions, I don't know where to begin.

First of all, some of my detox symptoms have been drowsiness, irritability, INTENSE cravings for anything cooked, headaches, and mental confusion. I go back and forth from being exhausted to full of energy, cranky to elated. Is all of this normal? The book I read did not go too much into details so I'm wondering if this should be expected.

My 3 year old is doing fine, does not ask for anything cooked unless he sees it first and last night he asked for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. My husband made it for him because I really don't want to deprive him of something that he sees right in front of him. I suppose I should just throw out all of the things in our pantry, but I'm afraid to. My 16 month old is having bowel movements often and is a little cranky. I know this is probably normal but I can't help but worry. I also hope that my breast milk is not pouring these toxins into him as they leave my body.

Finally, throughout the day, we are consuming apples, bananas, oranges, nuts, raisins( are these okay?) some raw vegetables. I go through periods of desperately craving nuts and avocados also, which I indulge in. I guess that's a long enough post. I have already gotten much hope from this list. Thanks to anyone who answers my concerns- all are appreciated! :) Christie
