Hello everyone. My name is Lou. I took my first step down this path a year ago. I made the choice to stop eating animals. I progressed from that by eliminating junk food, candy, sodas, sweetened juices, most dairy products, and lots of other crap. Very shortly after that I was ready to go totally vegan. I started all of this originally because of my love for animals and my new found respect for all life. Anyway, maybe 5 or 6 months after my change I became a little puzzled. I was only buying all natural "health" foods, buying mostly organic produce and I didn't really feel that great. I also gained about 15lbs. I couldn't figure it out. Then I realized that I was a vegetarian and I didn't eat that many vegetables. Sort of an oxymoron isn't it? So, I stopped eating bread and pasta 3 times a day and started finding out more and more about the raw diet. I have been raw (80-100%) for about 8 months now and I hardly recognize the person that I used to be. I went from weighing 215lbs(6'2") to 155lbs. My high blood pressure dropped, I no longer have heart pompatations (which I had every week), My chronic migraines have all but disappeared, and I am really just a much happier, better person all around. This is the best choice I have ever made. Anyway, that is my story (the abridged version). I look forward to learning from your experiences and hopefully someone can benefit from mine.
